NOT A GENTLEMAN; DRESSES TOO WELL

I’m going to tell you which one of the BRITISH CUSTOMS I like the most,
NOW THAT WILLIAM MARRIES KATE!

I found a 100% wool, tailor made tuxedo jacket from 1932 at the Portobello Market for £3 a month ago! I wear it to encourage men to remain gentlemen! To worship, applaud, celebrate and honour our ancestors traditions and behaviour.

I am raised by a gentleman myself. My DAD. I was therefore SHOCKED when I was to go out and hunt for one myself realising authentic gentlemen are a DYING ART! As species in the rain forest! I tell my mum she is a lucky woman, but so is my dad, she’s a gentlewoman.
Gentle equals gentle!

When I moved to London, I was excited to get to know REAL ENGLISH GENTLEMEN.

WHAT CONSTITUTES A GENTLEMAN?
According to me

1. It starts with FASHION AND PERFORMANCE. A real gentleman is in harmony with his own body. He knows what suits him! He wears a traditional tuxedo or his national costume at events! His shoes are polished and expensively handmade.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY - HE IS NATURALLY DEBONAIR!

2. HE IS CONFIDENT YET HUMBLE! He knows exactly who he is. HE CAN ADMIT INSECURITIES. He is not threaten by OTHER MEN. He is open minded and fare non’!

3. Yet he’s a true, old fashioned gentleman, he does not practice old conventions in terms of SEXUALITY AND GENDER. He is modern, loves his time of living as well as appreciating our ancestors. He sure can cook meals and do his own laundry. He NEVER understood why men couldn’t do it themselves!

4. He respects himself and is in contact with his own feelings, therefore he is able to RESPECT WOMEN UTTERLY! Every woman is to him a LADY. He believes that LADIES can conquer the world.

5. Politeness is all that matters to him. He will not call you a lady if you don’t treat yourself as a lady!

6. He begrudges people’s success. He sees the best in everyone.

7. PATIENCE is his biggest strengthen. HE WAITS FOR A LADY!

8. A real gentleman has a reliable car intentionally to pick you up and to drive you safe home. And of course he NEVER ASKS TO JOIN YOU UPSTAIRS. He lets you have the chance to ask!

9. HE HAS AN ORIGINAL MINDSET! You can tell that he sincerely CARES when asking how you are. IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO NOT GET INTRIGUED!

10. His ATTITUDE has an optimistic impact on everyone, except the men who can’t deal with his TOLERANCE.

Only English gentlemen have been my inspirational source to this scheme of rules!

DIY: CUT OUT

This blazer from Theyskens' Theory inspired me to cut out the back from an old blazer I rarely wear. I'm pretty sure it's going to be worn a lot more now!

NEON

This is such an intriguing bag. The colour is sort of awful/amazing. If there was a good way of hurting or blinding a pair of eyes, this would be it.

MIUCCIA MIUCCIA YOU MAKE ME SMILE

I know I have been telling you earlier that I love this fashion season, mainly because of its bold and unexpected color combinations. I basically love all fashion seasons, especially the Miu Miu line, but this season is truly spectacular. I read an article about Miuccia Prada herself in the February issue of UK Vogue (Im not 100% sure it was February), and I remember a quote that comes to my mind everytime I watch a Miu Miu show/ad; "Her biggest inspirations can be something she finds ugly or that she hates". Odd, but fascinating, and that is what makes her MIUCCIA PRADA!

I consider Prada as a designer that has the ability to have fun with what she is doing, her line MIU MIU so childish but with a serious and subtle undercurrent! MIU MIU was her nickname in her childhood by the way, a correlation in terms of the line's childish approach.

This swan dress is my favourite!

I have some very exciting DIY projects ongoing. But first lets celebrate EASTER. Im going to the mountains and afterwards to our sea house. I wish you a FASHIONABLE YELLOW holiday!

I LIKE

..Dressing up, no matter what occasion.

..The smell of fresh, black coffee. Even though I rarely drink coffee.

..Getting compliments from total strangers.

..The blissful feeling after purchasing a pair of very expensive shoes.

..Replaying a nice song over and over again.

..Getting inspired by random people on the street.

..Deep conversations.

..Baking brownies, and then eat about half the cake by myself.

..Watching classic Disney movies.

..Receiving gifts, with a personal card attached.

..Laughter.

..Visiting vintage shops to look for old treasures.

BANANAS

When my childhood friend Fredrik asked me to take photos of me to his assesment admission test, I told him I would gladly do it. The topic was courage, and he wanted to shoot someone who stands out from the crowd. I felt honoured!

With my new bunch of bananas. The fjord in my hometown is also lovely. And by the way, the jacket Im wearing deserves an own post asap.

BUG # 2

Somehow, I seem to be all into bug shaped accessories nowadays. Would be very glad if this bejeweled beetle's natural habitat was my own wrist.

POP COLOUR

Coat: Zara, shoes and glittery socks: Topshop, bag: DIY, sunglasses: H&M. The yellow collar is from an old H&M jacket.

A bit different from what I usually wear, but that's the fun about fashion; you can be a style chameleon whenever you want!

TOP 10 TRAVELLING RULES

Each time I go home to Norway I have my rules to follow when packing and travelling. Packing is tricky because normally it's a matter of limited space and there are unpredictable situations to consider. Here are my top ten rules when travelling:

1. Most airlines have rules regarding baggage. Do your research IN TIME. I mostly travel with Norwegian, which means strictly 20 kg per suitcase and 10 kg in handbag. LEARN AUTHENTIC FAWNING AND SMILES TO GET THROUGH WITH OVERWEIGHT! 20 kg does not make sense when you have a passion for fashion. PRACTICE WITH A MIRROR!

2. What to include? EVERYTHING UNEXPECTED - WHAT WILL SHOCK A NORWEGIAN?

3. When you travel you need flats and trousers. After all, you are crossing lands and seas - YOU EXERCISE! No need for jewellery, nor dressing down for the people expecting you. Go SAFE.

4. Packing in time is IMPORTANT. If you can't find space for your hat, you need to Fedex it!

5. Shoes, as security on planes, are FIRST PRIORITY. If there's no space left in your suitcase, bring them in your handbag. Shoes are heavy, but they carry you and you need them MORE than clothes!

6. Arrive early at the airport. "Fashionably late" is non existing - customize to your airline. Nothing is more demode than causing delays. It's unkind!

7. Buy any Vogue to read. NOTHING else will make the time move faster.

8. If you are single, order a window seat. You also need a wing and shoulder to rely on during turbulence!

9. Loud music is DEMODE, DEMODE, DEMODE.

10. Many people consider themselves as a cosmopolitan when they travel a lot and tell at social networks as Facebook and Twitter. EMBARRASSING! HUMILIATING! Travelling is instructive, but staying at only one place means you are satisfied with less. I envy those people! DO NOT SHOW OFF IN SOCIAL NETWORKS - NO ONE REALLY CARES UNLESS YOU ARE VIP.

When I wake up tomorrow morning, can you please make sure that these amazingly awesome Balenciaga heels are lying underneath my pillow? I would be very thankful.

DIY: SKIRT

I think I'm having some kind of DIY-kick these days. Anyway, I wanted to sew a colourful skirt, and which fabric could be more suitable than this one? The fish print is amazing, not to mention amusing!
